Trust Allah's Timing and Response- 342
Our job is to ask — Allah جل جلاله, in His infinite wisdom, responds in the way that's best for us.

Assalamu Alaykum,
Today’s gem is from Shaykh Navaid Aziz’s course The Gates of Mercy. In this gem, Shaykh Navaid Aziz explains that duʿā is always answered — either immediately, when it's best, or by averting harm or rewarding you in the Hereafter. Allah ﷻ knows what is best for us, even when we don't.
Hope you enjoy!

Gaza is in crisis. After months of devastation, families are struggling to rebuild their lives with little to no resources. Homes have been reduced to rubble, schools have been destroyed, and access to clean water and medical care is severely limited. The need is greater than ever.
Through the Human Development Fund, we’ve been on the ground providing essential aid—food, water, medical kits, and shelter. But now, the road to recovery begins. Rebuilding homes. Restoring livelihoods. Giving families hope.
Your support today can provide:
✔ Emergency relief for displaced families
✔ Rebuilding efforts to restore homes and schools
✔ Long-term aid to help communities recover
Every dollar counts in bringing Gaza back to life. Stand with us in this critical moment.
We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
The Prophet ﷺ explains in a separate hadith:
“Either He gives you what you want, when you want it, or it is delayed till a time that it is better for you, or what you’re asking for is not good for you — so Allah ﷻ averts an equal amount of evil from your life and rewards you generously in the Hereafter.”
Now for us, we often think that for me to get what I want, when I want it, is the best-case scenario. But I tell you — beyond a shadow of a doubt, with full certainty — this is not true.
Getting what you want, when you want it, is not always what is best for you.
What Allah ﷻ does for you is actually what is best for you.
Number one — when you get what you want, when you want it, who is the Master and who is the slave?
Allah ﷻ is our Master. And when He calls upon us, we respond to Him immediately. When Allah ﷻ responds to us, it is out of His generosity, and out of His mercy and kindness — not because of some righteousness that we have, or some debt that we are owed, or some right that we have upon Allah ﷻ.
Allah ﷻ has the right upon us that we respond to Him immediately — not vice versa.
And this is why, leading to points number two and three, Umar Ibn al-Khattab (R.A) used to say:
“O Allah ﷻ, I do not know what is best for me — only You know what is best for me.”
So when you make duʿā, you have fulfilled your requirement. You should not worry about how it is responded to. You should not worry about when it is responded to.
But you make the duʿā, and you are certain that it will be responded to.
As to how it is responded to — Allah ﷻ, in His infinite knowledge, in His infinite wisdom, in His infinite love, in His infinite mercy, and in His infinite justice — will respond to you in a way that is befitting.
And Allah ﷻ will do as He pleases, but Allah ﷻ always does what is best for us. Allah ﷻ always does what is best for us.
So you don’t need to put these conditional statements like, “If You please,” or anything like that — because Allah ﷻ is Allah.
No one can compel Allah ﷻ.
No one can force Allah ﷻ.
No one can make Allah ﷻ do something that Allah ﷻ does not want.
He is the One that compels. He is the One that enforces. Not us.
May Allah ﷻ grant us patience, certainty, and contentment in His perfect plans and responses to our duʿā.
أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
