We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Muslims had identified the crucial mistake that they had made in Uhud, which was that they had not listened to the Prophet ﷺ's instructions, and they got busy in collecting the spoils of war. Because in the beginning of the battle, the Muslims got the upper hand very, very quickly, and Quraish started fleeing the battlefield.

And then the Muslims got busy in collecting whatever they had brought, because they had brought their wealth, they had brought all kinds of things. And they used to do this ironically, they used to do this bring all of their prized belongings into the battlefield so that they would not flee. It served as a reminder that, look, if you lose or if you run away, you're leaving all this behind. And to that end, they would bring some of their women as well. Some 15 women, it's mentioned, had come, and they were singing and beating drums and reciting poetry to urge their soldiers.

But they, in those first moments of the battle, left. They discarded everything and they started fleeing. The Muslims got busy in collecting it to the point where the people that were on the hill also started coming down against the instructions of their Amir, Abdullah Ibn Jubair Radiallahu Anhu.

So they learned that this mistake of ours is what cost us everything. 70 of our great people, including Hamza Radiallahu Anhu, were slain in that battlefield. But we will never make that mistake again.

May Allah ﷻ grant us the wisdom to obey divine guidance and never repeat the mistakes that lead to regret.
